Keep reading to find out more about how you can support this important fixture. Over the years, point-to-pointing in East Anglia has provided many of us with a great opportunity to experience the thrill of race riding, camaraderie, and above all fun (win or lose).  We have become part of a huge family, where several have carved out a successful career in the racing industry following retirement.

In recent times, the sport has experienced many changes.  In East Anglia, these changes have included the sad loss of Cottenham’s Point to Point course and the amalgamation of the North Norfolk fixture with the West Norfolk at Fakenham, meaning that we have now lost four fixtures in East Anglia, for the coming season. With this in mind, and with the aim of helping Higham remain sustainable, we have, with PPA approval, formed the Retired East Anglian Jockeys Club to run a new fixture at Higham on Sunday 16th January. The Waveney Harriers have very kindly taken on the responsibility of running this fixture alongside the Higham management team.We hope you will appreciate that we are working hard to help the sport we are all passionate about to survive in these difficult times.  We are therefore asking for your support in either financial donations, sponsoring a race or with help on the day.  Any profits after costs will be divided between The Injured Jockeys Fund and Racing Welfare.

If you would like to get involved, please email John Whyte at john@becksgreenfarm.com.

Thank you from,The East Anglian Retired Jockeys Club Committee: John Whyte, Jean Merriam, Matt Gingell, Stephen and Julia Howlett.
