We have become part of a huge family, where several have carved out a successful career in the racing industry following retirement.
In recent times, the sport has experienced many changes. In East Anglia, these changes have included the sad loss of Cottenham’s Point to Point course and the amalgamation of the North Norfolk fixture with the West Norfolk at Fakenham, meaning that we have now lost four fixtures in East Anglia, for the coming season.The Injured Jockeys Fund and Racing Welfare.With this in mind, and with the aim of helping Higham remain sustainable, we have, with PPA approval, formed the Retired East Anglian Jockeys Club to run a new fixture at Higham on Sunday 16th January. The Waveney Harriers have very kindly taken on the responsibility of running this fixture alongside the Higham management team. We hope you will appreciate that we are working hard to help the sport we are all passionate about to survive in these difficult times.
